Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a weight limit for riders?
Yes, even our biggest horses are not very big, therefore Our weight limit is strictly 14 stone (90kg). We reserve the right to refuse anyone who we believe to be over the weight limit to mount the horse.

What is your cancellation policy?
Payment & cancellation - Once a payment is made, no refunds will be given. We can credit your payment in the form of a voucher if you wish to cancel. We require at least 48hours notice in order to change, reschedule or cancel your booking. If adequate notice is not given, full balance for the original booking will be due, we will not be able to change/reschedule your booking and/or no credit voucher will be given. This applies regardless of the weather and your personal circumstances.

What is your minimum age for pony rides?
We run the rides for children from one year old, but we ask that if the child is under four, an adult/parent walks alongside to support the child for the duration of the ride.

Where do your rides take place?
All our rides are done out in Ruislip Woods, not in an arena.

What should I wear for my ride?
Riders are recommended to wear clothes they don't mind getting a bit dirty. Long, stretchy trousers (eg. Leggings, jogging bottoms or jeans with stretch in them) are recommended for comfort. Shoes should be closed and have a slight heel, otherwise trainers or wellies are ok. No sandals, flip flops, shorts or skirts to be worn please! Please also be mindful the helmets you will be required to wear fit closely to the head and are not designed to accommodate big or elaborate hairstyles or to be worn on top of headwear. People with long hair should wear it in a low down ponytail or similar to allow the hat to sit correctly.

For anyone who would like to walk along on foot, please wear wellies/walking boots which you don’t mind getting mud on as it does get muddy out in the woods in the winter.

Do I need to bring my own hat/gear?
No we provide you with hats, but you are welcome to bring & use your own if you have one manufactured up to the latest BSEN & PAS015 standard. If your hat/helmet does not meet these standards, we will insist on you using one of ours instead. We encourage regular riders to buy their own hat. (All riders must wear a hat at all times). Anything else you wish to bring/wear must be your own. We do not provide anything other than hats.

What age do you charge adult prices?
People aged 16 and over are classed as adults.

Do you do lessons?
We do not do lessons and do not have an arena to ride in. We do hacks and rides through the woods only which are suitable for riders of all abilities.

What Happens if it rains?
Our rides still take place in mild to moderate rain. This is not a problem as long as riders are dressed appropriately for the weather. In the event of thunderstorms or snow settled on the ground however, we will have to reschedule.

I am an experienced rider but my friend is not, can we ride together?
Yes you can, but please be aware that you will ride at the pace of the slowest and least experienced rider so that the group stays together and to ensure everyone’s safety. Your ride will be escorted by someone from the stables on foot with you.

Do you provide food with your birthday parties?
No unfortunately we do not provide any food. Only use of the party room is included
